On April 23, 2023, the National Chief Imam Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu celebrated his 104th birthday. President Nana Akufo-Addo and his wife, Rebecca, paid him a visit.

The president posted breathtaking images from his visit to the National Chief Imam's home in Fadama, an area of Accra that is primarily Muslim, on Facebook.

The Chief Imam's age is "by all standards, a blessed and privileged club," Nana Akufo-Addo added.

When she and the president visited the Chief Imam's home on April 23, 2023, Rebecca Akufo-Addo shook his hand.

The National Chief Imam's leadership of the Muslim community in Ghana was also praised by the president, who said it "has been truly exemplary."

"When it comes to the issue of religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence, our country may very well be the envy of the rest of the world. His leadership and involvement in this situation have been exceptional, the president stated.

The renowned imam is the creator of both the Islamic Peace and Security Council of Ghana (IPASEC) and the Dr. Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu Education Trust Fund (The SONSETFund).

Chief Imam is honored by Akufo-Addo on his 103rd birthday.
