Akufo-Addo departs for South Africa as president.

President Akufo-Addo will deliver the keynote address at the Johannesburg-based forum scheduled for 26-30 April 2023.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo departed the country on April 26 in response to an invitation to attend the Democratic Union of Africa (DUA) Annual Forum in Johannesburg, South Africa.

He was accompanied by the deputy minister of foreign affairs, Kwaku Ampratwum, a member of parliament from Mampong, as well as officials from the Presidency and Foreign Ministry.

On Sunday, 30 April 2023, President Akufo-Addo will return to Ghana, and in his absence, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will act in accordance with Article 60 (8) of the Constitution.
