Alex Tetteh will consume poison and die if Bawumia wins the NPP presidential nomination.

Mr. Alex Tetteh, a member of Kennedy Ohene Agyapong's campaign team from Assin Central, has vehemently opposed Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia becoming the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) flagbearer prior to the 2024 elections.

Mr. Tetteh, the current vice president of Ghana and founder and leader of the pressure group Citizen Eye Ghana (CITEG), has lost touch with the party's core supporters.

In an interview with Okay FM's Ade Akye Abia, Mr. Tetteh threatened to commit suicide by ingesting poison if Bawumia is selected over his supervisor Kennedy Agyapong.

NPP delegates have made it their mission to vote against the vice president because, in their opinion, he has failed to represent their interests and is merely attempting to purchase his way into office.

"The day you discover that Bawumia has been elected by delegates... I will consume poison and die. No longer will you hear me on the radio.

Let time pass, and we shall see. You believe that you can simply gift someone money and then return to them four years later? Observe how despondent NPP delegates have become despite the fact that their party is in power. It appears as though they are in opposition," he stated.
