Bawumia Saves Muslims from Disaster

Bawumia Saves Muslims from Disaster

Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu

The opportune intervention of Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia secured Independence Square as the location for Eid Ul Fitr congregational prayers last Saturday.

As the location had been reserved in advance for use by the Deeper Life Church, late requests for its use were initially denied.

As a result of the Vice President's intervention and the Church's sanction, the location was made available to Muslims, who utilized it for a couple of hours. It was yet another demonstration of the harmony between Muslims and Christians.

Alhaji Zakaria Sibaway, an ecstatic observer of the development, told Daily Guide that "the harmonious relationship between Muslims and their Christian counterparts is worthy of imitation outside Ghana." Our Christian brethren readily consented to the use of the facility in a way that highlights the harmony between adherents of the two Abrahamic faiths."

Alhaji Sibaway stated that the Deeper Life Church not only permitted Muslims to use the space they had reserved, but also permitted us to use their PA system, chairs, and lighting. We are appreciative of their tolerance and desire for interfaith harmony. May God bless them abundantly."

Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia and National Chief Imam Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu have been instrumental in fostering interfaith harmony between members of the two religions.

Across the two faiths, respect for Vice President Bawumia and the National Chief Imam continues to surge.

The celebration of Eid al-Fitr in Accra and Kumasi was marked by grandeur and pageantry, with members of various ethnic groups displaying their diverse cultures.

Eid al-Fitr signifies the conclusion of the month-long fast observed by Muslims.

Even though congregational prayers were held at various locations throughout the nation's capital, Independence Square is where the National Chief Imam leads the prayers and accommodates the President or Vice President.

Recently, when President Akufo-Addo participated in the celebration of the Chief Imam's 104th birthday, he praised him for the influence he has had on the nation.

In a Facebook post, the Vice President also wished the National Chief Imam a happy birthday on the Sunday following Eid al-Fitr. Even at such a ripe old age, the cleric continues to conduct congregational prayers that involve standing, kneeling, and prostrating.
