Declared a public holiday on April 24

On April 24, 2023, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the president of Ghana, will observe a holiday.

According to Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act (Act 601), the holiday is legal.

The fact that Eid-ul-Fitr falls on a Saturday, a day that is already designated as a statutory public holiday, led to the creation of the holiday, according to a statement from the Interior Ministry.
