Dr. Afriyie Akoto believes in the potential of the Ghanaian laborer.

Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential hopeful, has sent a heartfelt message to Ghanaian employees, commending them for their hard work and assuring them of his confidence in them.

In a statement signed and disseminated in Accra on Sunday, April 30, 2023, in honor of this year's International Labor Day celebrations, Dr. Afriyie Akoto said, "I salute all Ghanaian workers for their immense contribution to our nation's development. I have faith in the ability of our workforce to advance the progress of our nation.

International Labor Day, also known as May Day, is celebrated annually on May 1 throughout the globe.

It is primarily observed to honor the struggles and victories of laborers and the labor movement.

It is also observed to raise awareness of the rights and opportunities that every worker should have for their welfare and advancement.

Ambrose Dery, the Minister of the Interior of Ghana, has declared Monday, May 1, 2023, to be a Statutory Public Holiday to commemorate May Day.

The Day will be observed in Bolgatanga, the capital of the Upper East Region, where the President of the Republic of Ghana is anticipated to deliver a speech to thousands of Ghanaian employees.

Dr. Afriyie Akoto, who is also the former Minister of Food and Agriculture, should commend Ghanaian workers for their significant contributions to the country's economic development and stability.
