Dr. Duffuor has been blessed for his son to win the Sekyere Afram Plains seat.

Dr. Kwabena Duffuor Senior, a National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer candidate, has assured his son, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor Junior, that he will win the NDC primaries and lead the party into the 2024 elections.In an interview with Tv3, the former governor of the Bank of Ghana and finance minister during the presidency of Atta Mills stated that the time had come for his son to lead the party in a new direction."I have prayed for my son to win the election and become an elected official.

He is more than qualified to manage the Constituency""I will support him without reservation.

This is what Duffuor told the Tv3 reporter in response to a query about whether he financially supported his son."He is my son, and I am fully behind him; I am rooting for him to win, and he will."On May 13th, the NDC will hold its primaries to elect representatives for some constituencies and a presidential candidate.As the NDC incumbent candidate is a blood relative of the Duffuors, the Sekyere Afram Plains Constituency will be contested by an uncle, incumbent MP Alex Adomako-Mensah, and a nephew, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor Junior.Dr. Kwabena Duffuor Senior is also in a flagbearer election on the same date as former President John Mahama and former KMA mayor Kojo Bonsu.President Mahama is the frontrunner in this election.
