FA Cup Wrap Up RTU, King Faisal, Skyy FC& others reach quarter-finals Featured

A brace from Manaf Umar aided Real Tamale United to defeat FC Samartex in the FA Cup round of 16 at the Aliu Mahama Stadium on Sunday.

The game looked balanced in the early minutes until Manaf Umar opened the score for the host with a cool finish on the 36th minute of the game.

Seven minutes after the break, the former Hearts of Oak midfielder doubled the score for Real Tamale United via a low-cross delivered by Mankuyeli Mohammed.

FC Samartex fought hard looking forward to restore the parity of the game but their impressive performance in the last thirty minutes earned them only a goal through Seidu Abubakar on the 75th minute.

In Cape Coast, Ebusua Dwarfs deepened the woes of Kotoku Royals with a 1-0 win over the Premier League campaigners to reached the quarter-finals stage of the competition.

Division One League zone two leaders, Skyy FC staged a dramatic comeback win over Heart of Lions in Kpando. 

The Daboasi based outfit recorded a 2-1 away win to evict Heart of Lions from this year's edition of the FA Cup.

At the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, King Faisal are through to the next round of the competition after a 1-0 win over second-tier side Tamale Steadfast FC.

King Faisal had to rely on a late strike from Abdul Latif to progress to the last 8 of the competition.

Volta Rangers couldn't find the last nail to the coffin in the penalty shootouts despite holding Legon Cities to a 1-1 thrilling draw at the El-Wak Sports Stadium.

Legon Cities exercised their supremacy in the penalty shootouts to reach the quarter-finals after defeating the lower-tier side 4-3.

Another fixture ended in a pulsating draw, Debibi United travelled to Nsoatre to hold the Premier League newbies to a 2-2 stalemate at the Nana Kronmansah Park.

Debibi United displayed a five-star performance in the first department of the game with a 2-0 lead against Nsoatreman FC.

Nsoatreman FC fought back to level the score in the second half through Stephen Diyou and Samuel Ofori.

Nsoatreman FC progressed to the quarter-final stage of the competition after defeating Debibi United 7-6 on penalties.

A second half spot-kick brilliantly converted by Sam Adams ensured Aduana Stars a 1-0 win over Asante Kotoko to sail through to the last 8.

On Saturday, Dreams FC trounced former Ghana Premier League campaigners Liberty Professionals 3-0 at home.
