Female suspect in an armed robbery; two others are in custody.

Three alleged armed robbers, including a woman, were detained by police after they stole a car from its driver at a cemetery on the Breman Kokoso to Amanfopong road in the Central Region.

The incident took place on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at night.

According to information acquired by Kasapa News Yaw Boagyan, the gang leader and alleged female robber Ruth Agyapong was first apprehended at her hideout before directing the police to apprehend the other suspects, Edward and William Kissi.

According to reports, she hired a Toyota Yaris with the license plate GC-6553-21. As she was haggling over the cost with the driver, the two other thieves who were hidden in the cemetery stormed out of the bushes and began firing shots.

They dragged the driver from the automobile, stole his cash and cell phones, bound him with a rope, and drove off in the vehicle.

When a kind stranger coming from the farm noticed the driver struggling, he untied him and helped the victim call the police. Ruth was later arrested as a result of the investigation.

Police found a firearm, ammunition, a military uniform, a knife, scissors, and other items after searching her hotel room.

For a more thorough investigation, the suspect was sent to the District Police Command in Breman Asikuma.
