For Gangara in Kumasi, 150 security officers would be deployed.

Kumasi, GNA, April 14 - At the Muslim traditional parade (gangara) on the streets of Kumasi this year, 150 security personnel are anticipated to be on duty.

One of the Muslim customs following the month of Ramadan is the "gangara," which gives the various tribes a stage on which to showcase their diverse cultures.

According to a press release written and signed by Naaba Musah Akabonga, the President of the Council of Zongo Chiefs in the Ashanti region, this year's procession would take place on April 22, 2023.

The Council of Zongo Chiefs, according to the statement, would lead the parade, which would begin at the Manhyia Roundabout and end at Roman Hill.

The police, military, fire department, and Ghana's ambulance service would be on hand during the march to uphold law and order and guarantee the safety of attendees.

The declaration gave the Zongo people comfort by assuring them that effective measures had been taken to establish a tranquil setting in which the various tribes could exhibit their diverse cultures.

It exhorted each of the thirty-three (33) tribe heads and sub-heads in the area to mobilize their followers in order to ensure a successful and tranquil "Gangara" as per customary.

The council expected that all attendees would follow the law during the joyful event and dress modestly in accordance with the Islamic faith, it stated.

The program was said to be open to all traditional tribes in the Ashanti region who were interested in participating, and the statement urged all stakeholders and members of the public to dismiss any claims that particular groups or people had been prohibited from attending.

The Council also prayed for Allah to have mercy on the soul of Sultan Umar Farouk Saeed, the recently deceased Sarkin Zongo, and conveyed their condolences to his family.
