Fruits older men should consume often to boost their prostate health

Do you know that there is no known cure for an old age-related disease called prostate cancer yet? Also, even though researchers haven't come up with a clear way of preventing the ailment, it has been established that older men suffer from this health challenge more often than younger men.

The good news however is that research has also shown that due to the high lycopene and antioxidant content in some fruits, they can help minimize the risk of prostate cancer in older men.

1. Tomatoes

2. Watermelon

Watermelon is an excellent choice if you want to maintain your prostate health as you age. Research has shown that not only is watermelon a great choice for your heart, this fruit when eaten regularly will help boost the level of antioxidants and lycopene in your body, which will help reduce the risk of prostate cancer cells developing in your body.

3. Carrots

Another highly beneficial food for your prostate health is carrots. Not only is this fruit tasty, but research has also shown that when consumed regularly it can help reduce the risk of having prostate cancer

4. Citrus

An important part of the diet is eating fresh fruits, the possibility of lowering your prostate cancer risk is one of the many benefits of incorporating fruits into your diet. One of these fruits is citrus.

A 2017 study, shows that people who consume a high amount of fruit especially citrus had a reduction in their risk of having prostate cancer. Oranges, tangerines, grapefruit, lemons, limes etc are examples of citrus you can try out regularly.

5. Pomegranate juice

Like citrus, pomegranates are a rich source of antioxidants. Pomegranate juice is a well-known super fruit that is rich in antioxidants which helps to prevent prostate cancer in older men.
