Gbande predicts that the NDC will win the 2024 elections regardless of Rebecca Akufo-Addo's leadership of the Electoral Commission.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has assured its members that nothing will stand in the way of their victory in the 2024 general elections, despite the efforts of the incumbent government and key state institutions with a hand in the elections.

They noted that they are aware of all the shenanigans President Nana Addo and the NPP are engaging in to remain in power despite the fact that they have become unpopular due to the poor state of the economy and bad policies implemented after promising Ghanaians paradise.

In an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com, the Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Mustapha Foyo Gbande, stated that the NDC is aware of all the strategies being devised prior to the elections to coerce them into supporting an NPP victory, but they will not allow this to occur.

Thus, he has challenged President Akufo-Addo, claiming that the NDC will win the 2024 elections by a landslide, even if Akufo-Addo appoints his wife as EC chair.

"We are going into an election with the president attempting to compromise institutions of state to prepare the ground for him to rig an election, and we are saying that if he appoints Aunt Rebecca as the chair of the Electoral Commission, they will lose in 2024."

"Ghanaians are fed up with him and his low governance standards. The NDC is poised for victory, and nothing will stand in our way," he said.

There are concerns that the NPP, through President Nana, is stacking the Electoral Commission, the elections' adjudicator, with affiliated or party members.

Recent appointments to the commission have raised eyebrows, with some CSOs alleging that the commission is stacked with partisans.

Rev. Akua Ofori Boateng, Salima Ahmed Tijani, and Dr. Peter Appiahene were sworn in to various positions in the EC, and it is claimed that Dr. Appiahene is a well-known NPP communicator in the Brong Ahafo Region.
