George Afriyie: Kurt Okraku used me to advance a position, but now he views me as an opponent.

Kurt Okraku has come under fire from former Ghana Football Association [GFA] vice president George Afriyie for his insistence that he cannot cooperate with his adversaries.

In an interview with Accra-based Joy FM, Mr. Okraku, who currently serves as the head of the nation's football administration after winning the GFA presidential contest, reaffirmed that he would not win an election and cooperate with his adversaries.

An enraged George Afriyie expressed his disgust over the FA president's remark in an interview.

He claims that Mr. Okraku approached him and lobbied for a job when he was acting as Kwesi Nyantakyi's second in command, therefore he finds it odd that the same individual now views him as an enemy.

He said to Kumasi-based Sompa FM, "Some people have been targeted, so if you are an enemy, you are out."

"The football in the nation today resembles the ruling and opposition political parties. When the FA President [Kurt Okraku] said on the radio that no one wins an election and works with his enemies, some of us assumed there were specific enemies. However, over time, the man who came to my house and requested my inclusion on a committee for the Ghana Football Association was unable to do the same for me, proving that I am an enemy.

"The FA president, the General Secretary, or the members of the Executive Council have approached me and asked me to come and take up a position at the FA," he continued.
