Ghana dismisses TOR MD If You Are Certain That Condensate Amounting To US$2.5 Million Has Disappeared Energy Minister is dared by Bernard Owusu

If it turns out that condensate valued at US$2.5 million has been missing from the refinery while the Managing Director was in charge, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Ghana's Minister for Energy, has been dared to have Jerry Kofi Hinson fired.

The General Transport Petroleum and Chemical Workers Union's National Chairman, Bernard Owusu, issued the challenge after the Minister claimed that condensate worth US$2.5 million had vanished from the refinery in recent weeks.

National President of the General Transport Petroleum and Chemical Workers Union, Bernard Owusu

"I gave TOR a new business opportunity in the premix fuel industry and instructed them to blend premix fuel entirely using the condensate from Ghana Gas. The last I heard, TOR's condensate had vanished after being worth more over US$2.5 million. According to Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh on Citi FM in Accra, "If we all want TOR to work and we don't want another ECG in TOR, [we] should do the right thing otherwise] it will break the back of government."

Mr. Bernard Owusu challenged the Minister to verify his claim with evidence in response to his remarks on Kessben 87.7 MHz, an Accra-based FM station. He also stated that the GTPCWU was willing to support him in dealing with any employee who was discovered to be involved in the missing product.

"Only recently, I overheard the Minister claim that there is unaccounted for condensate worth roughly 2.5 million. I'm utilizing your platform to inform the Honourable Minister that the MD, who is the institution's leader, should be sacked if that is what has transpired. He has to be looked into, and any employees who were involved should be disciplined. In that regard, the union is ready to assist the minister.

He said, "We can't just stand by and let people do the wrong thing to the good people.
