Help the impoverished and vulnerable

Accra, April 29, GNA – Bishop Adonteng Boateng, Head Pastor of Divine Word International Ministries, has urged the public to extend a helping hand to the poor and vulnerable and to show them compassion.

"Let us consider others, especially the poor and the needy, for when we do so, God will consider us and provide for our necessities.

"As humans, our lives are only meaningful if we can make a difference in the lives of others, even if only for a day," he said.

This was said by Bishop Boateng during the inauguration and fundraising event for the orphanage he founded in Kasoa.

The Divine Privilege Home would house 200 orphaned and disadvantaged children.

The orphanage has rooms with private bathrooms, kitchens, a classroom, and a courtyard.

The Bishop from Accra, who resides in the United States, was moved to return to Ghana to assist impoverished and needy children.

Madam Elizabeth Naa Kwatsoe Tawiah Sackey, Chief Executive Officer of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), praised the initiative to assist the needy and pledged the Assembly's support.

"Just as the Lord admonishes us, let's all reach out to the poor and needy and support them," she said.

Asantehene Twafohene Baffour Opoku Agyeman urged the government and philanthropists to help create a brighter future for children.

Dr. Samuel Amo Tobin, Executive Chairman of Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited, Asamoah Gyan, former captain of the Black Stars, Bola Ray, a media personality, and Obaapa Christy, a gospel vocalist, were present at the inauguration and fundraising event.
