President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is seeking Japan's support to assist Ghana in reaching an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Board for the 3 billion dollar balance of payment assistance. According to Akufo-Addo, Japan, a member of the Paris Club, plays a crucial role in Ghana's ability to secure the IMF agreement.
