David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, a Nigerian music superstar, has revealed how he abandoned music production to become a vocalist. Wednesday's Forbes interview with the Timeless singer revealed that he had always desired to work behind the scenes.

He added that he worked as a music producer until he realized that he was superior to many of the artists who came to record with him.

Davido stated, "I was formerly a producer. I have always desired to remain in the background. So, I once had an older relative who served as the family's musician. I am the youngest child in my family. However, I became very skilled with computing, technology, and similar topics.

"When he told me he makes music, I immediately went to YouTube to learn how to record music. I purchased a computer, software, and the works, so I began my education on YouTube.

The singer continued, "So, after doing that for some time, I was like, 'Yo! I am superior to everyone I'm recording. I thought, "You know, I should probably record a song."

The award-winning musician stated that the first song he ever recorded was a success, which led to his singing career.
