How Inspector vowed to commit suicide after murdering his fiance but ran away to Sekyere to evade capture

Police Inspector Ahmed Twumasi (also known as Tycoon), who is accused of killing his girlfriend Victoria Dapaah at the Dufie Towers in Kumasi, confided in a friend that he planned to end his life and advised them not to reveal his heinous deed when questioned.

On the evening of Thursday, April 20, 2023, Inspector Twumasi shot the victim repeatedly before fleeing the scene. He afterwards called a close relative and confessed to the murder while pledging to put an end to everything.

There were rumors that he may have killed himself when authorities started looking for him because of the confession in the viral conversation.

However, Inspector Twumasi was captured that evening on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Sekyere, close to Effiduase in the Ashanti Region, after being followed by the Ghana Police Service on a religious mission.

"As a consequence of a special Police operation that was started after the shooting event, the suspect, who has been on the run since the incident, was captured at Sekyere, close to Effiduase in the Ashanti Region.

The suspect is currently in police custody and will be brought to justice, according to a statement from the police.

Until Victoria Dapaah's attempts to end their relationship—who is now deceased—Inspector Twumasi was engaged in a love engagement.
