I continue to endorse Mahama-derogatory remarks made by Otika Afisa Djaba

Former Minister of Gender Affairs Otiko Afisa Djaba has reiterated that he never insulted former President John Dramani Mahama during election season.

She disclosed that the issues were pertinent and that she continues to support them despite the divergent interpretations offered by those with whom she disagreed.

The former National Women Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) stated on GTV that the reality that she and Gonjas share relationships does not imply that they should share the same viewpoint.

"John Mahama is my elder cousin, so I will refrain from insulting him. I have a solid education." According to them, every Gonja should support John Mahama. I am not a Gonja like that…I am a Krobo. This is what I was told during my Bole campaign. It's acceptable for him to be where he is and for me to be where I am. His destiny differs from mine. We cannot all like Fufu or TZ, she replied in response to claims that she had insulted the former President."At the time, the campaigns we ran and the issues I raised were pertinent. It is not an insult to say something about a person that others disagree with. This is my sentiment, and I still own these items. It in no way implies that I offended him. She urged individuals to consult a dictionary to understand the definition of insult.

President John Dramani Mahama pledged to implement a progressively free Senior High School (SHS) policy in 2014, while candidate Akufo-Addo pledged to make SHS free.

In response to the claims made on the XYZ Breakfast Show, Otiko stated, "This President is not sincere. He has embarrassed a number of Northerners. He is embarrassing mother Ghana, and the IMF is telling him, 'E no dey go well,' so he should stop the 'edey be k3k3'; set down his Dubai things and give us the necessities for the development of this country. He owes Nana Addo an apology for the ineffective advertisements he launched leading up to the 2012 election.

During her 2017 vetting, when Alhaji Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini, the MP for Tamale North, asked her to repent for the offensive remarks, she responded, "The President is my brother, and I spoke from my convictions." My statements were intended to serve as a wake-up call for him. We are developing the nation. I believed that those who should have told him the truth during his re-election campaign were not doing so. They determined that they did not want me to speak because he was my brother, and when I mentioned his embarrassing conduct, I did so in relation to SADA. SADA is very near and dear to my heart. My mother is from the North, the incidence of poverty is highest in the three Northern Regions, and what happened to the Guinea fowl for a President from the North who vowed to alleviate poverty? It was humiliating for both myself and North. This statement was made by the Northern Chiefs, so neither you nor I owe him an apology. We are building and establishing a nation"
