If I win the 2024 elections, I'll restore the Tema oil refinery, Mahama

If re-elected, former president John Dramani Mahama has pledged to reopen the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR).

According to Mr. Mahama, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government is causing the once-vibrant refinery to progressively collapse.

As he wrapped up his campaign in the Greater Accra Region, John Mahama promised to restore TOR to its former splendor while addressing NDC delegates in Ashaiman.

"TOR has never again processed crude oil since we (the NDC) left office. I recall that we transferred the first batch of Ghanaian crude oil from our own oil resources to TOR for processing before we left government. After the oil lay there for several years, it was eventually devalued and sold without being processed. You may rest assured that TOR will be back on its feet whenever NDC returns.
