It would be a calamity for John Mahama to once again wield the state sword, according to Koku Anyidoho.

John Dramani Mahama

Koku Anyidoho, a former deputy general secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has stated that it would be a curse on Ghana if former president John Dramani Mahama held the Sword of State for a third time, as Mahama's motivation for seeking re-election is "greed."

Anyidoho, who was expelled from the NDC for insubordination, noted that John Mahama had previously wielded the State Sword on July 24, 2012, and January 7, 2013. He urged Ghanaians to be cautious and not permit Mahama's selfish agenda to curse the country.

Koku Anyidoho wrote on Twitter on April 26, 2023, "If John Mahama holds the Sword of State for a third time, Ghana will be cursed." He possessed the State Sword on July 24, 2012 and January 7, 2013. Let us not permit John Mahama's avaricious agenda to blight Ghana.

John Mahama Mahama previously served as President of Ghana from 2012 to 2016, but lost the 2016 presidential election to Akufo-Addo. He ran unsuccessfully against Akufo-Addo in the 2020 election, but he has expressed confidence that he can win in 2024 and implement the changes he believes are necessary for the country.
