Jirapa: Paramountcy Issues Caution Notices Ahead of Major Festival

The Paramountcy of Jirapa Headed by Naa Peter Nanfuri, a Former Inspector General of Ghana Police Service has issued a Notice ahead of the Bong-Ngo Festival.

In the Statement issued through Hudi Yahaya, a Journalist with Jirapa FM, it Indicated that there was a ban on some farming practices.

Statement

It is announced for the information and consumption of all persons
leaving in and around Jirapa and its environs and the general public
that, the ban against the harvesting of premature fruits of all kind
especially DAWADAWA and the cutting down of fruiting trees is
henceforth strictly invoked and/or enforced by the Chiefs and
Tendaama.

Hence all well-meaning sons and daughters of the area
should observe the ban as that paves the way for the celebration of
our annual festival – BONG-NGO in April.

Anyone (man or woman; boy or girl) caught contravening and/or going
contrary to this ban will be delt with appropriately as the police and
other service commands has been tasked with the mandate to ensure

that the ban is adhered to by all and will not hesitate to deal with
culprits decisively.

Let it be known that the land gods will, for sure,
deal with offenders of the ban who might be operating at the blind
side of the law enforcers and well-meaning citizens.

By this announcement, all Divisional Chiefs are to bring same to the
notice of their Tendaama for further invocation at their various levels.
May the gods of the land keep us from danger throughout the season.
Thank you for your audience.
This announcement is from the office of the Paramount Chief.
