Ghana, according to the Deputy Minister of Finance, John Kumah, is on the verge of receiving 3 billion dollars from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

According to him, the country would be able to receive the funds as quickly as feasible.

This follows the government's engagement with bilateral and multilateral partners at the recent spring meetings of the IMF and World Bank in the United States.

John Kumah, the Deputy Minister of Finance, assured the media in the House of Representatives that discussions to secure the fund have been fruitful.

"Ghana is optimistic; the Minister for Finance has just returned from the spring meeting in the United States, where he met with our bilateral and multilateral partners, and I can say that we are optimistic that we will soon secure the Paris Club financing agreement."
