Let's Concentrate On Illuminating National Discourse

Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, has tasked legislators and other leaders with emulating The Church of Pentecost by focusing on the politics of ideas and data rather than a 'politics of insults and deception.'

Dr. Bawumia, speaking at the 46th Session of the General Council Meeting of The Church of Pentecost on May 3, 2023 at the Pentecost Convention Centre in Gomoa Fetteh, remarked that the State-of-the-Church Address read by Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, was full of positive acts and data.

He urged Ghanaian politicians to cast light on national discourse, stating, "Let us focus on data to shed light on our challenges in order to find solutions."

The Vice President was notably impressed by The Church of Pentecost's meteoric rise from humble beginnings to global icon status. He stated that the church's success serves as an example to the nation and other institutions of the transformative power of commitment and diligence. He expressed his satisfaction with the church's governance structure.

He praised the Chairman of the church for being stately and influencing public discourse through his words and actions.

"Your concern and affection for the nation as a church is contagious and has in fact influenced a great number of other churches. The Ghanaian government fully acknowledges," he stated.

Dr. Bawumia urged the churches and politicians of Ghana to study the methods of The Church of Pentecost and work diligently to achieve the kind of success that the church continues to tally up year after year.

Dr. Bawumia commented on the leadership style of the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, stating, "Your leadership prowess, godliness, virtues, and rich counsel have been felt throughout all facets of Ghanaian society, including the seat of government."

He lamented Ghana's politics of deception and tasked the Ghanaian Christian community with disciplining the politicians in their midst.
