Mahama to launch presidential campaign in Ho on March 2

On Thursday, March 2, 2023, former President John Dramani Mahama will begin his campaign for the position of leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 general elections.

Today, February 28, 2023, Mahama made the announcement in a social media post.

Along with Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, the former Finance Minister, Kojo Bonsu, the former Mayor of Kumasi, and 43-year-old British businessman Ernest Kobeah, the former president is running for the position of flagbearer for the NDC.

On February 22, the NDC, the largest opposition party, opened nominations for presidential candidates and closed them on February 24.

The launch of the John Mahama 2023 campaign, titled "Building the Ghana we want together," will take place at the Cedi Auditorium of the University of Health and Allied Sciences in Ho, which is located in the Volta Region and is the NDC's stronghold.

In the meantime, the party's presidential primaries are anticipated to take place on May 6, 2023.
