Maritime security Akufo-Addo hosts the Gulf of Guinea Commission's third session.

In Accra, President Nana Akufo-Addo is meeting with members of the Gulf of Guinea to discuss the escalating menace of piracy in the region.

Initiated in 2001, the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the Gulf of Guinea serves as a forum for collaboration on the appropriate utilization of resources in that region.

In attendance at today's meeting will be Nigerian President Mohammadu Buhari and the leaders of Angola, Gabon, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, and Sao Tome and Principe.

According to GHOne TV, the primary topic of discussion will be the growing menace of piracy in the Gulf of Guinea.
