Muslims And Christians Urged To Maintain Peace In The Country

Mr. Eric Bonsu Agyabeng, chairman of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana's (PCG) Tema North District Committee on Ecumenical and Social Relations (DESR), has urged Christians and Muslims in Ghana to continue fostering harmony.

Mr. Agyabeng gave this recommendation in an interview with the Ghana News Agency following a visit by members of the DESR to three mosques in the district and the distribution of containers of Salem-branded bottle water in support of the Eid celebration.

Among the mosques visited were the Community Nine Mosque, the Community Seven Mosque, and the Bethlehem Mosque.

He stated that, in order to win souls for Christ, Christians must coexist peacefully with their neighbors and exhibit Christ-like attitudes and behavior.

He stated that the visit was part of the PCG's Ecumenical and Social Relations mission to promote peaceful coexistence among members of the community.

He congratulated Muslims on concluding the 30-day fast of Ramadan and wished them well during the Eid festivities.

Mr. Agyabeng stated that the Imams of the various mosques welcomed them with open arms and discussed ways in which they could collaborate to combat the activities of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender, queer, and intersex persons and their associated groups.
