NPP bringing 66th Independence Day to town to appease Voltariana for failing them - NDC MP

A National Democratic Congress (NDC) lawmaker has alleged that the reason state resources have been deployed to the Volta Region for the 66th Independence Anniversary celebrations of Ghana is due to its failings towards the region and indigenes.

Speaking at the campaign launch of John Dramani Mahama for his flagbearership bid in the NDC, MP for Ho West MP, for Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah noted that the ruling NPP has taken for granted the interest and developmental aspirations of the Volta Region.

“Let me put on record that the NPP that is in power has failed volta region completely, the NDC the scanty borrow supported the region with infostructure, NPP has over borrowed that we can’t even pay our debt and they have not done a single project in the region, 7 years down the lane”

“The people of the Volta region are so angry and I believe that is why Akufo Addo wants to have the 6th March celebration in the region, because we are so angry with him, not even a single project has been done in the region by the NPP. Are we not Ghanaians? “he asked.

“The good people of the Volta Region have now decided enough of Akufo Addo – Bawumia regime and the NPP, they are going back to the NDC, Sankofa Yenkyi”, he vowed.

Mr. Mahama’s campaign was launched in the Volta Region, with the theme “Building the Ghana we want together, together”.

The Volta Region will host this year’s National Independence Day celebration. The venue will be the 5,000-capacity Ho Youth Resource Centre (located at Adaklu Tsrefe).
