NPP delegates wil punish reckless comments of some NPP flagberer hopefuls Peter Ayinbisa

Candidates for the position of NPP flagbearer have been given a severe warning about the implications of making comments that are foolish, self-centered, and destructive to the party. The delegates have made it abundantly clear that there will be quick punishment for any remarks of this nature. Peter Ayinbisa, who serves as the NPP's Upper East Regional Communication Director, underlined the significance of cautiously selecting a language for the flagbearer aspirants as they attempt to lead the NPP into the future general election in 2024.

Mr. Ayinbisa went on to add that the probable candidates for the party's presidential nomination have to choose their words with extreme prudence in order to preserve the party's honour and increase the possibilities of the party winning the general election in 2024. He underlined the importance of appropriate communication that supports the ideals of the party and does not compromise the aims of the party.

The prospective standard-bearers are reminded by the warning that the words they choose to use carry a tremendous amount of weight and have the potential to have far-reaching effects. It emphasises the expectation of the delegates that the candidates will conduct themselves with the utmost decorum and refrain from making any statements that could potentially undermine the reputation of the NPP or imperil its chances in the future election.

The statements made by Mr. Ayinbisa were directed particularly at Kwabena Agyapong, who served as General Secretary of the party in the past.

Unfortunately, Kwabena Agyapong's position is becoming further isolated from that of the delegates. On a recent episode of A1 Radio's Day Break Upper East Show, he made the following statement: "Some of these comments will attract concerns from the delegates, and the delegates would punish some of these people for making some of these comments."

The statements that Mr. Agyapong made on the state of the economy in the country were met with Mr. Ayinbisa's continued opposition. He emphasised that it is unfair to the government and to the global dynamics for Mr. Agyapong to make the deliberate attempt to present a false picture of what has happened up to this point.

In the meantime, in accordance with Article 10(3) of the Constitution of the New Patriotic Party, on Monday, July 10, 2023, the Vetting Committee for the Party's Presidential Primary Election delivered its report to the National Council through the General Secretary.

The Committee recommended the people named below as eligible to participate in the next Presidential Primaries subject to the approval of the National Council. This recommendation was included in the report that was submitted to the National Council.

Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, Kwadwo Poku, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko, Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, Dr. Owusu Akoto Afriyie, Joe Ghartey and Francis Addai-Nimoh

On July 20, 2023, the meeting of the Party's National Council to discuss the recommendations of the Vetting Committee is planned to take place. According to Justin Kodua Frimpong, who serves as the General Secretary of the NPP, this is the case.
