Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia did nothing wrong, according to prominent NPP member Kwabena Sarpong, by participating in the unity walk at Kwahu, in the Eastern region.
Nothing, he claimed, prevented the Vice President from accepting an invitation to an NPP gathering.
Numerous NPP supporters joined Dr. Bawumia and other gurus on Saturday, April 8, 2023, as they took part in a historic unity walk in Kwahu as part of the Easter celebration.
As the thronging fans marched through the main streets of Kwahu Bepong and came to a finish at Mpraeso, they danced to blaring brass bands and "game songs."
However, this has been interpreted as a support march for Dr. Bawumia, who has been mentioned as a potential NPP flagbearer.
But in response to the news, Kwabena Sarpong stated the event was a party rather than a forum for a campaign on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen.
He claimed that because all of the candidates for flagbearer were invited, it could not be said that the march was in support of Dr. Bawumia.
Mr. Sarpong hastily clarified that his explanation of the matter does not, in any way, support Dr. Bawumia's candidacy.
