NPP is against LGBTQ+ - Ntim

Stephen Ntim, the National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has stated once again that the party is against any action or law in the country that encourages the activities of the LGBTQ+ population in the country. Ntim is the person who has been in charge of the NPP from its inception.

According to him, the party is dedicated to supporting the rituals and ceremonies that have been practised in the country for generations.

Because the LGBTQ+ community and related behaviour acts are not a part of Ghana's legacy, members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are opposed to any organised effort to normalise them in the country.

"As a party aligned with the center-right, the party takes a hard stance against any watering down of the principles that have guided the development of Ghanaian society over many years.

We ought to be proud of the fact that our society upholds the fundamental values and ideas that have contributed to our unique identity. Let us be watchful for any forces who are working to destroy our heritage...," he urged.

He went on to say that the NPP is willing to protect the rights of members of minority groups, but not those of the LGBTQ+ community.

Mr. Ntim also issued a call to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to exercise caution in their campaigns due to the fact that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has never supported the advancement of LGBTQ+ rights in Ghana.
