Nairobi Mother Inconsolable as 3-Month-Old Son Who Died in Hands of Househelp Is Buried

According to postmortem, Dylan Kimachui died at the hands of his nanny because of aspiration after drinking milk

A first-time mother is still in mourning as she is yet to come to terms with the death of her little child.

First-time Nairobi mum held during burial

The heartbroken mum was inconsolable as she laid her three-month-old baby to rest in an emotional burial.

Stephan Mwende Mulwa could not help but express her heartfelt feelings with tears flowing down her cheeks.

She needed the assistance of close friends and family to hold and console her as she mourned the demise of the infant, Dylan Kimachui.

Heartbroken Nairobi mother mourns infant

Talking to a close friend Derrick Mbugua, the body of Kimachui was moved from Kenyatta University Funeral Home.

"The mother is very heartbroken and feeling so low. Many who have shown up to support her are friends to ease the emotional burden on her. It is a very sombre mood, of course, but we are trying to be strong," he told TUKO.co.ke.

He shared some emotional pictures online during the body viewing of the little angel who was no more.

Many, including the mum, were heartbroken and had to be held as they mourned the young one.

Death of 3-month-old Kimachui

Kimachui, who died due to aspiration after the milk he was given by the nanny passed through to his lungs, was buried at Thika cemetery.

Mwende recalled the day she held the lifeless body of her child, noting she could tell he was dead long ago.

According to the postmortem, after the house manager bottled Kimachui she forgot to burp the baby.

The milk passed through the windpipe and to the lungs causing aspiration in the baby boy.

Netizens console grieving Mwende

Tribute flew for the hopeless mum as netizens could relate to Mwende's pain of losing a little one.

Kikuyu singer exhumes daughter's remains

Another mother's pain was Kikuyu singer Regina who recounted the agony of exhuming her child's remains 12 years after burial.

The melodious artiste was forced to unearth her daughter's remains over a decade after her burial due to a fallout with her husband.
