National Basilica TUC disagrees with Akufo-Addo; he must convert it to a hospital.

Dr. Anthony Yaw Baah, Secretary-General of the TUC

The Ghana Trades Union Congress has proposed that President Nana Akufo-Addo convert his national cathedral proposal into a hospital.

Addressing the 2023 May Day parade in Bolgatanga, Upper East Region, on the topic of 'Protecting incomes and pensions in an era of economic crisis: Our responsibility,' Dr. Anthony Yaw Baah, Secretary-General of the TUC, stated that converting the cathedral project into a hospital will better serve the nation.

"The president has always stated that he wants to build another Notre Dame in Ghana so that we can attract a large number of tourists," he said.

Dr. Baah noted that it would be preferable to convert the initiative into a national hospital.

Additionally, Organized Labour urged the president to shrink his government.

"Mr. President, you can also reduce the size of your government," stated Organized Labor. "Ghana has too many ministers and deputy ministers."
