New vehicles giving to the police

Akufo Addo has given 400 world vehicles to the police service.

The presentation was held at the police headquarters in Accra.

The vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, was handed over to the Inspector General of Police (IP), David Asante Appear.

Addressing the gathering, President Akufo-Addo said the gesture was to support the IP and the police service in their efforts to fight crime and criminality in the country.

He said the government was committed to ensuring that the police service was adequately equipped to deal with the security challenges of the country.

The President announced that the government had also released GHC100 million to the police service to enable them to purchase more vehicles and other equipment.

He said the government was also in the process of procuring 4,000 vehicles for the police service.

In his remarks, the IP thanked the President for the vehicle and the GHC100 million.

He said the police service would make good use of the vehicles and the money to fight crime and criminality in the country.
