Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI, the immediate past President of the Central Regional House of Chiefs, has praised President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for appointing Gertrude Araba Esaaba Torkornoo as the next Chief Justice.

According to him, the appointment of Justice Gertrude Torkornoo did not come as a surprise to the chiefs and people of the Central Region, particularly the people of Gomoa and Effutu enclave, where she began her existence as a child.

In an interview with reporters at Gomoa Ajumako in the Central Region, Obrempong Nyanful Krampah, who is also the Paramount Chief of Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area, lauded the government for championing the empowerment of women in the country.
He stated, "On behalf of Nananom and the people of the Central Region, I would like to express our gratitude to President Akufo Addo for this prestigious appointment. We are exceedingly obliged to him."

Obrempong Nyanful Krampah stated that Justice Torkornoo held numerous positions in the Judicial Service, from the subordinate Courts to the Appeal Court, prior to her appointment to the Supreme Court in 2019 by the same government.

"It's no surprise that the President saw her humility and nominated her for the high office of the Service as Chief Justice to succeed Chief Justice Anim-Yeboah, who will retire on May 24, 2023."Many thanks, Mr. President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.
