On May 1st, DVLA will begin impounding vehicles of drivers without valid licenses.

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has announced that it will impound the vehicles of drivers on the road without valid licenses.

The exercise, which will begin on May 1, is in accordance with Road Traffic Regulations 47, 158 of LI 2180 of 2012.

Drivers are among those affected by the directive;

Driving without a valid license is illegal.Not having a license at allDriving with a license that has expiredDriving with a forgery licenseDriving with a counterfeit licenseUse the incorrect type of license.

According to the Authority, "there will be no exemptions with the exception of police, prison, fire, military, and immigration-registered vehicles."

"Please take this as a warning in order to avoid embarrassment and inconvenience," the message cautioned.
