Samuel Osei Kuffour has resigned from his position on the Black Stars management committee, according to Henry Asante Twum, the GFA's director of communications.
The former center defender for Bayern Munich has reportedly left his position.
Twum said that Kuffour submitted his resignation before the 2023 African Cup of Nations doubleheader qualifiers against Angola, citing the need to focus on his duties at the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG). This information was revealed in an interview with Max FM in Accra.
"It is true that Sammy Kuffour has stepped down from his position on the Black Stars management committee. He announced his resignation to Accra-based Max FM prior to the match versus Angola.
He continued, "He informed the GFA that he wanted to concentrate on his responsibilities at the PFAG (Professional Footballers Association of Ghana).
Kuffour was a member of the team that qualified Ghana for its first-ever World Cup campaign in Germany in 2006 and appeared in 53 games for the Black Stars between 1993 and 2006.
