Police Raid APC Situation Room For Allegedly Recruiting INEC Staffs To Thumb Print Ahead Election

On Sunday, the Niger State Police Command in Minna raided the situation room of Umar Bago, the All Progressive Congress governorship candidate. The raid was carried out based on a tip-off from some individuals, according to Abdulberqy Ebbo, the Director of Digital and Strategic Communications of the Bago Campaign Organization, who spoke to our correspondent after posting on Facebook.

The police reportedly entered the building and searched it, claiming that officials of the Independent Electoral Commission were present with sensitive materials and were thumb printing in favor of the APC ahead of the Saturday elections. The Divisional Police Officer who led the search said he received reliable information to this effect.

“I got a call that the Situation Room was being searched by the police. I rushed there and asked the DPO what was going on and he said they were informed that INEC staff were in the Situation Room thumbprinting ahead of the governorship elections of Saturday.
