Sudan Fight All 73 Ghanaian student footballers in Sudan have been located, according to the government of Ghana.

Following the recent tragic violence in the nation, Dr. Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong, the deputy minister of foreign affairs and regional integration, has certified that all Ghanaian students in Sudan, notably in the capital city of Khartoum, have been securely accounted for.

Speaking to TV3 on April 23, the minister disclosed that all of the students had been transferred to secure locations and that no one had been injured during the unrest.

About 73 Ghanaians, most of whom work in the petrochemical sector, are currently enrolled at institutions in Khartoum thanks to scholarships from Sudan.

All 73 of the students have been located, according to Minister Ampratwum-Sarpong, who also said three Ghanaian football players who were also in Sudan at the time had been located.

According to Mr. Ampratwum-Sarpong, "Sudan offers scholarships to some Ghanaian students. We currently have 73 Ghanaian students studying at universities in Sudan, particularly in Khartoum. They work primarily in the petrochemical sector.

"So far, we have located all 73 Ghanaian students, and everyone is safe and secure. The next group of Ghanaians is three Ghanaian football players in Sudan, and we have also located them."Consequently, if you group them all together, evacuation is the strategy.

In the midst of the crisis, the government of Ghana is seeking to evacuate its residents from Sudan.

The Sudanese Armed Forces and the Paramilitary Rapid Support Forces have been engaged in a deadly war over the past week in the Republic of Sudan, which has resulted in unnecessary casualties.

The clashes were centered around Khartoum, and civilians were the ones who suffered the most.

Working closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration and the Honorary Consulate to organize the evacuation of Ghanaians is the Ghana Embassy in Cairo, Egypt, which also holds concurrent accreditation with Sudan. To ensure their safe journey to Ethiopia, preparations are presently being made.
