Tell Us How You Can Get GHC1 BILLION To Pay NPP Executives Each Month - Lecturer Challenges Alan Kyeremanten

Tell Us How You Can Obtain One Billion Ghana Cedis Each Month To Pay NPP Executives - Challenges Faced By Lecturers Alan Kyeremanten Ishaq Kyei-Brobbey has issued a challenge to Alan Kyeremanten, demanding that he provide the party with specifics regarding how he intends to pay the monthly salary of the national executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

During an appearance on the Wontumi Morning Show, the esteemed lecturer expressed his confusion as to whether or not Mr. Kyeremanten intends to pay the wages of the national executives out of the funds provided by the government or out of his own personal pocket.

He inquired, "So the question I ask is that he wants to become President before he will take that amount from the coffers of government to pay party members or is it the party that is going to generate that amount of money before he can pay the grassroot or is it from his personally pocket?" he said. "So the question I ask is that he wants to become President before he will take that amount from the coffers of government to pay party members."

He noted that it has become important to seek answers from Mr. Kyeremanten at this time because, if the national executives are to be paid wages, none of them should earn salaries that are below the minimum wage in Ghana. If this is the case, then it has become imperative to demand answers from Mr. Kyeremanten now.

"He is claiming that when he comes he will pay the salaries of the party officials on every level, from the polling station to the electoral area to the seat to the region. The problem, however, is that if you say you would pay them salary, according to the plans that we have for the country, you are not allowed to pay anyone less than the minimum wage. "If you say you want to pay them and apply the minimum wage, then he (Alan) would need not less than GHC1 billion every year before he can do that," he added. The minimum wage in Ghana is GHC14.88p, so if you say you want to pay them and apply the minimum salary, then he (Alan) would require not less than GHC1 billion every year.

He was taken aback by the question and asked, "Where is he going to get that money from?"
