The EIU's forecasts have proven accurate. NDC will indeed win 2024 - Mahama

"Our baseline prediction is that economic difficulties, the fallout from debt restructuring, and weak governance will generate a wave of anti-incumbent sentiment and drive the electorate to seek change.Former President John Dramani Mahama applauds the Economist Intelligence Unit's (EIU) prediction that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has a greater possibility of winning the 2024 elections.

On Friday, April 28, an international polling agency predicted that the leading opposition party in Ghana will emerge victorious, despite the difficulty of administering the economy thereafter.

"Our baseline prediction is that economic difficulties, the fallout from debt restructuring, and weak governance will generate a wave of anti-incumbent sentiment and drive the electorate to seek change.

Therefore, the NDC has a good possibility of winning the 2024 presidential election and gaining legislative majority.

JDM, as he is sometimes known, told NDC delegates in Zebilla, Upper East Region, on Tuesday, May 2 that the EIU predicted a loss for the NDC in 2016, despite the fact that it was in government, and another loss in 2020.

"Now, they have predicted that the NDC will win in 2024," he remarked.

"Their prediction has proven accurate thus far," he emphasized.

He stated that the two factors cited by the EIU as justification for the NDC's rating are instructive: economic turmoil and inadequate governance.

And the verdict is out, and Ghanaians are telling the NDC to come get their stone.

He also stated that the defeat of the last elections in 2020 was a blessing in disguise, as the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) had squandered a great deal of national resources without anyone's knowledge, leaving a gaping void to be filled.

He stated that since NPP's victory, it has become the same party's responsibility to fill that void, a very difficult task that has caused the country to starve.

This is the first time in history that we have not paid our debts.
