The Kumasi officer who shot his girlfriend was ultimately apprehended.

According to a recent report, the police have apprehended the police inspector who murdered a woman in Adum, Kumasi, on Thursday night.

Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, who is suspected of murdering the young woman believed to be his fiancée, was apprehended on Sunday evening.

On Thursday evening, April 20, 2023, there was a shooting incident in Kumasi, Ashanti. As a result of a special police operation conducted in response to the shooting, the perpetrator, who had been on the run since the shooting, was apprehended in Sekyere, a town near Effiduase in the Ashanti Region.

The suspect is currently in police custody and will be brought before the court to account for his or her actions, according to a Sunday night police statement.

Recall that after committing the heinous deed, Inspector Ahmed Twumasi fled in a rickshaw [a small two-wheeled passenger vehicle known as a Pragya in Ghana].

On Thursday, April 20, 2023, at approximately 10 p.m., the incident occurred behind Aseda House near Dufie Towers. The woman, who was reportedly a single mother, was transported by ambulance to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased upon arrival.

According to eyewitness accounts, the individual was observed conversing with the victim before shooting her at close range. "After the first two shots, she begged the assailant to stop, but he fired an additional three rounds before fleeing in a rickshaw."

"Because he was holding a firearm, we were unable to attempt an arrest," said witnesses.
