The Nii Laryea Tomakpe and Yarniede families appoint a new leader.

The principal and accredited elders of the Nii Laryea Tomakpe (Tomigbe) family of Gbawe in the Ga South municipality of the Greater Accra Region have officially appointed a new family chief according to local customs and traditions.

The principal new leader of the family is Mr. Joseph Quaye, who was appointed on May 7, 2022 to replace the deceased Mr. Nii Laryea Tomakpe I as the head of A Family.

In an interview with journalists about his appointment, he thanked the elders for their efforts to resolve family disputes prior to his appointment.

He stated, "Let's all come together and prepare for what lies ahead of us."
He implored everyone to be tolerant of one another and to avoid actions that have the potential to disrupt family harmony.

He urged the sons and daughters of the Nii Laryea Tomakpe (Tomigbe) family to labor together for the family's development. He added that he would outline his new vision for the family's development very shortly.

A family member told this publication that the appointment was long overdue, as the family had been without a legitimate head of household for many years due to a misunderstanding.

Following this development, the new chief of the family, Mr. Joseph Quaye, has warned the general public against purchasing land from individuals posing as representatives of the family, emphasizing that they do so at their own peril.

In addition, they issued a stern warning to would-be buyers and those who have fraudulently purchased land from the wrong people, urging them to come over to regularize their purchases or risk losing the lands.

The new family head also warned the public to be wary of a man named Nii Adam Kwatei Quartey who poses as a family head, emphasizing that Nii Adam Kwatei Quartey is a Daasetse of Gbawe and not a family head, so anyone doing business with him does so at their own peril.
