The entire Muslim community is exhorted to live in harmony and peace

To promote development, Muslims in the Ho Municipality have been urged to live in harmony and coexistence.

Mr. Divine Bosson, Ho's municipal chief executive, addressed communities at various Eid ul-Fitr gatherings and urged members of the Islamic faith to pursue unity rather than division.

The Ho Central Mosque had become a security zone as a result of leadership disputes in the surrounding communities.

The MCE appealed to factions by citing religious texts, stating, "Islam is a religion of peace and love" and that all people should be guided by its tenets.

He stated that citizens must continue to abide by the law and contribute to the growth of the municipality and the region as a whole.

Mr. Bosson presented food items on behalf of the Municipality and the Assembly, and stated that the Assembly remained accessible to the community and would continue to address its requirements.

Alhaji Alpha Anas Hamidu, the community's religious leader, led prayers in the Islamic Basic School park and urged the congregation to unite in harmony for development.

He stated that a contemporary Islamic secondary school and a health center project stalled since 2012 must be completed for the community's advantage.

Alhaji Hamidu stated that the community was working to accomplish projects in health and education, among others, and called on the various factions to unite.

There was a large police presence at the religious event because a recent court ruling had attempted to settle a dispute over the central mosque.

The Police hierarchy provided financial assistance for the celebration and urged the attendees to coexist peacefully.

In addition to the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress, a number of other organizations also contributed to the celebration.

The end of the 30-day fast is marked by reunions and festive banquets.
