Tinubu Returns With Right Arm PICC Implant

...He Did Not Undergo Surgery - Spokesperson

On Monday, Bola Tinubu was greeted by jubilant political allies and supporters at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja as he returned to Nigeria.

However, within hours of Tinubu's return, new concerns about his health became the subject of conversation....CONTINUOUSLY READ

THE WHISTLER observed that a peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) is affixed to his lower right arm in a video of his arrival at Abuja Airport that is circulating on social media.

The inserting was visible as he waved to the throngs of supporters who had come to greet him.

A PICC is an insertion of a thin tube through a vein in the upper limb to the large vein known as the vena cava just above the right side of the heart.

One of the world's most renowned clinics, the Mayo Clinic in the United States, defines PICC as a peripherally implanted central catheter, also known as a PICC line, which is a long, thin tube inserted through a vein in the arm and passed to larger veins near the heart. Occasionally, a PICC line may be inserted in the leg.

It is used to administer intravenous fluids, blood transfusions, chemotherapy, and other medications to terminally ill and chronically ill patients, such as cancer patients.

According to the Mayo Clinic, a PICC line is used to administer medications and other treatments directly to the major veins near the heart. If a treatment plan calls for frequent injections of medication or blood samples, a physician may recommend a PICC line.

Although Tinubu has no reported cases of cancer or illness, there were rumors that he went to France for medical treatment soon after he left.

A statement from his media aide, Tunde Rahman, announcing his departure from Nigeria on March 21 read, "President-elect Aswáj Bola Tinubu has traveled abroad to rest and plan his transition programme prior to his inauguration on May 29, 2023."

"The president-elect has decided to take a break after the hectic campaign and election season to rest in Paris and London before traveling to Saudi Arabia for Umrah (Lesser Hajj) and the beginning of Ramadan fasting on Thursday," he added.

Tinubu did not attend the planned lesser hajj, as indicated in the statement, and was not seen in public, as reported exclusively by THE WHISTLER.

Bayo Onanuga, a spokesman for the Presidential Inauguration Council, verified to this outlet that he did not participate in lesser hajj but that "he's fine" and "is in France."

Contrary to Onanuga's claim, a report from an online newspaper (not THE WHISTLER) stated that Tinubu was hospitalized for days in France and was indeed "intubated."

Our Correspondent noticed what appeared to be a PICC line on the lower right arm of the former governor of Lagos State as he was gesturing to supporters.

When contacted, Onanuga claimed to be unaware of the meaning of a PICC and asked our Correspondent for clarification.

When told its meaning and application, he replied, "Trash."

"I trust no one has provided you with a photo that has been altered. I am currently in his home with him.

"Nothing is visible on his limb. He is in good health and underwent no surgery in France.

“Imagination. "Fiction," declared Onanuga.

Minutes later, he sent a succession of texts containing the phrase, "Your imagination. We are at our residence. Nothing comparable.

"However, you may continue to write your customary garbage.

"We are dining with him tonight. "I disagree with your assertion," he continued.

During the presidential election campaign, Tinubu confronted health-related questions and direct requests to disclose his health status.

This occurred after several trips abroad, during which he reportedly sought medical treatment for unspecified ailments that necessitated weeks of hospitalizations....CONTINUOUSLY READ

He disregarded those demands and went on to win the February 25 presidential election, despite the election being contested in court.
