Two presumed dead in Elubo road accident

Saturday afternoon, April 29, 2023, an accident involving an articulator vehicle and a cargo truck at the Anwiafutu junction on the Elubo road in the Western Region resulted in at least two fatalities and other life-threatening injuries.

The articulator vehicle carrying bales of used clothing en route to Elubo collided with an oncoming empty cargo truck missing a tire.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver and co-driver of the cargo truck died instantly after failing to prevent their vehicle from colliding with the articulator truck.

The accident that occurred on the main Takoradi to Elubo highway temporarily impeded the flow of traffic for motorists traveling to Ivory Coast as well as those traveling to Takoradi and beyond.

Since then, police have freed the road for vehicular traffic.
