Ursula Owusu provides Faith Ladies with $25,000 in advance of a pivotal WPL match.

Faith Ladies FC, a Women's Premier League club based in Dansoman, has received a major lift ahead of their crucial league match against Hasaacas Ladies on April 29 in Sekondi.

Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the Member of Parliament for the Ablekuma West Constituency, made an unexpected donation of GH25,000 to the team yesterday, during their visit to her office, to support their preparations for the crucial match.

Faith Ladies, who are currently second in the league ranking, could win the southern zone competition with a victory, as they have won ten of their last seventeen matches.

Both clubs will be vying for the Premier League Trophy in the upcoming match, so it is anticipated to be a fierce contest.

Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful, who is also the Minister of Communications and Digitalisation, urged the team not to be afraid of the upcoming task and praised their efforts.

"We are proud of what you have accomplished thus far, and we want you to know that you have our full support as you make this final effort to win the zonal championship. "We have faith in you, and as your name suggests, you should proceed with the confidence that you will succeed," she said.

The president of the club, Ebenezer Adotey Allotey, thanked the representative for his timely intervention and sustained support.

Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful previously cheered on the club to victory in the Women Premier League Super Cup Trophy match against Ampem Darkoa Ladies in a preseason tournament hosted in Tamale.
