Who is Brian Deacon?

Brian Deacon is a British actor who many people around the world well know as the man who portrayed Jesus in the 1979 film Jesus. He was part of 900 actors who were screen tested by producer John Heyman for the role. The 1979 film Jesus made Decon famous through the evangelical organization the Jesus Film Project.

 Deacon was born on 13 February 1949 in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, UK, the second son of a mechanic and nurse. As of 2023, he is 74 years old. Aside from playing Jesus, Brian Deacon has appeared in lots of movies including portraying Heumac in The Feathered Serpent (1976, 1978), Frank Miles in the 1978 TV series Lillie, and appeared with his brother, Eric, in the Peter Greenaway film, A Zed & Two Noughts (1985), as Oswald Deuce.

The Jesus actor has been married twice, firstly to Rula Lenska in 1977, with whom he had a daughter, Lara Parker Deacon. His ex-wife Rula is also an actress. she is known for the films Queen Kong and Aura, and she portrayed Claudia Colby in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street. Brian and Rula got divorced in the year 1997. In 1998 he married Natalie Bloch who he is still married to up to date. His current wife is also an actress who is known for Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994).
