Wife Of Late Rev Anthony Boakye Speaks On Why She Didn't Attend His Funeral

The burial of the late Rev. Anthony Kwadwo Boakye took place as planned on Saturday, August 5, 2023, despite the fact that a court had issued an injunction prohibiting the service from taking place.

Since the late founder of the Resurrection Power New Generation Church passed away approximately a month ago, his family has been fighting over some unknown internal concerns. The disagreement has been going on for quite some time.

Mrs. Margret Boakye, also known as Obaa Yaa Asantewaa, had gone to court to obtain an injunction on her late husband's body and to prevent the burial from taking place indefinitely. She was successful in both of these endeavours.

Because of this, the relatives of her late husband forbade her to participate in any widowhood rites or to attend the funeral of the preacher.

On the day of the funeral, Mrs. Boakye was noticeably absent from the funeral grounds, despite the fact that she was the widow who was supposed to be in charge of supervising the burial of her husband.

She voiced her resentment over the sequence of events that had transpired up to this point, beginning with Reverend Boakye's illness, continuing through his death, and culminating in the preparations for his funeral. This was her first time speaking publicly and responding to the deluge of claims that have been levelled against her.

She bemoaned how she was suspected of having a hand in the late preacher's death and how she was sidelined from his funeral, using the bible to invoke curses on everyone involved in dragging her reputation into shame.
