Yaw Darbo is building a huge house for his mother at their hometown.

You may recognize him as a rising star in the Ghanaian movie industry, particularly in Kumawood, where he has appeared in over 60 local films. Samuel Nana Yaw Dabo, also known by his stage name "Dabo" or "Adwen Kessie" (big brain), is a 17-year-old comedian with a passion for both acting and football.

Despite his success on the big screen, Dabo also has a strong interest in sports and is the proud owner of three football teams in the colts division: an U-10, U-14, and U-17 team. In an interview with Accra-based Atinka FM, he revealed that he finances these teams entirely on his own and scouts talented players to play in matches every weekend.

Dabo acknowledges that many people only see him as a movie star, but he wants them to know that he has other interests as well. He sees football as a way to help young players develop their talents and gives them the opportunity to showcase their skills. Despite the challenges of owning a football club, including the cost of financing matches, Dabo is committed to supporting grassroots football in Ghana.

In fact, he believes that the lack of attention given to grassroots football is one reason why Ghanaian football is struggling. Dabo calls on the Ghana Football Association to focus more on developing young players, as is done in Europe.

As the owner of his teams, Dabo takes an active role in coaching them, and sometimes even coaches them himself in matches. He believes that many of the coaches in Ghana are not good enough and that he can do a better job. With his passion for football and his dedication to supporting young players, it's clear that Dabo is more than just a talented actor.
